The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e.V. (ASB) is a non-profit aid and welfare organization that operates nationwide, is independent of party politics and denominations, and is supported and carried by over 1.4 million members.

As an aid organization, the ASB performs a wide range of tasks throughout Germany, such as first-aid training, rescue and ambulance services for events of various kinds, civilian and disaster relief work, as in the case of the flood disaster in 2021, and currently assistance for refugees arriving in Germany from Ukraine.

As a welfare organization, the ASB is also involved in many areas of work, such as assistance and care for the elderly, palliative care, child and youth welfare, and assistance for the disabled.

There are many opportunities to volunteer with the association. These range from humanitarian aid abroad to working as a water rescuer and rescue dog handler, to working as a visitor in a retirement home.
