Sustainable help that works!

  • SOS Children's Villages supports over 2,000 projects worldwide
  • Kern der SOS-Arbeit ist die familiennahe Betreuung.
  • Families in poverty who are at risk of breaking up develop an economic basis for a stable, shared future.
  • Young people who previously had little or no access to education receive a solid education or training.
  • In some cases, SOS provides life-saving treatment for children and adults who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

SOS Children's Villages provides a home for children in need and helps to improve the social situation of disadvantaged young people and families.

In SOS Children's Villages, children whose biological parents are unable to look after them for various reasons grow up in a family environment. They are given protection and a sense of security, thus equipping them for a successful life. The SOS Children's Villages Association accompanies mothers, fathers or families and their children from the very beginning in mother and family centres. It offers early support in its children's and meeting centres.

It supports young people with open programmes, but also offers them a home in youth residential communities and prospects in vocational training facilities. SOS Children's Villages also includes the village communities for people with mental and psychological disabilities.

In Germany, a total of around 5,000 employees help in 38 facilities. The organisation reaches and supports around 107,000 people in difficult circumstances in Germany with its 800 services. In addition, the German SOS Children's Villages Association finances around 90 programmes in 20 focus countries and is active in 109 countries with sponsorships.
