Every mourner should have the possibility of professional and individual support
- Support services for children, adolescents and young adults between the ages of 5 and 27 who are grieving the loss of their mother, father or both parents, as well as for their caregivers (e.g. parents, family members, professionals)
- Counselling and support for adults up to the age of 49 who are grieving for their partner
The death of a loved one often brings young mourners out of balance and to the brink of financial and personal existence. Not only are the deceased missed emotionally, but a helping and supportive hand is also often missing in everyday life. In these moments, many want someone to accompany them and give them professional advice. Dealing with grief can be very different - that is why children, young people and adults need individual help to deal with the loss.
As a non-profit organisation in German-speaking countries, the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation offers young mourners counselling tailored to their needs as well as long-term support in their grief. The foundation stands as a reliable partner at the side of young mourners and also advocates for their needs on a social level. Networking with other specialised agencies is also an important concern.
